What is jeff burroughs?

Jeff Burroughs is a former professional baseball player who played as an outfielder in the Major League Baseball (MLB) for five different teams from 1970 to 1985. He was born on March 7, 1951, in Long Beach, California.

Burroughs was selected by the Washington Senators with the first overall pick in the 1969 MLB Draft. He made his MLB debut with the Senators in 1970 and went on to play for the Texas Rangers, Atlanta Braves, Seattle Mariners, and Oakland Athletics during his career.

One of the highlights of Burroughs' career was winning the American League Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in 1974 while playing for the Texas Rangers. He batted .301 with 25 home runs and 118 RBIs that season.

After retiring from playing, Burroughs has worked as a coach and scout in professional baseball. He is also the father of major league outfielder Sean Burroughs.
